Furncare Move Into E-commerce World With PSP


After already supporting their legacy CRM system, PSP were asked to take over and complete the development of Furncare's new e-commerce website, which improved user journey and transformed their customers' online experience.

Furncare is a leader in the design and manufacturing of high-quality furniture for the care home industry. Recognising the value of an intuitive online platform, Furncare aimed to create a seamless and visually appealing website that would allow customers to explore and purchase their products with ease, using various payment methods. 

Challenge


To keep pace with industry demands and user expectations, Furncare needed a fully responsive e-commerce site that enhanced the customer journey. The new site required integrated payment options, a customisable product configurator and specific functionalities like customer registration approvals and conditional discounts. Additionally, Furncare sought complex delivery rate calculations based on postcode and product type, along with multiple payment options including purchase orders. 

Solution


After already supporting Furncare’s legacy CRM system, we took over the e-commerce website development in WordPress. This project leveraged WooCommerce for its powerful e-commerce capabilities, allowing the site to offer seamless online purchasing, while linking to Stripe payments for secure transactions. 

The solution included: 

  • A responsive website across all devices, reflecting Furncare’s brand identity. 
  • Bespoke configurators for curtains, dining chairs, sofas and lounge chairs, giving users a customised experience. 
  • WooCommerce integration to manage orders, approvals and payments, combined with Stripe to enable diverse payment options. 
  • Custom code for discount management based on customer type and support for purchase orders for select accounts. 
  • Complex delivery logic tailored to postcode and product type requirements. 

Results


Through a structured approach of task-oriented work packets, each website component was developed, tested and reviewed for quality, ensuring all elements met Furncare’s standards before the site’s mid-September launch. The site now offers an easy-to-navigate purchasing experience with added functionality, including customer registration, order tracking and easy billing and shipping management.
