Exam Results Calculator

The client faced a global challenge when their examinations were cancelled due to the pandemic. The organisations had exams booked in more than 50 countries and the availability of these venues was increasingly affected.

Because of this, they decided to introduce calculated grades for those students affected by the cancelled exams. By analysing candidate data, CIPS were able to generate a predicted grade for eligible students. 

The client required a solution that allowed unsuccessful candidates to book a resit at a venue of their choice free of charge.

We were particularly proud of the short turnaround time of concept to delivery after CIPS approached PSP with their desire to give candidate a results without sitting an exam.

Having to agilely adapt to the impact of coronavirus, we built and tested the system within three weeks to have minimal impact on the results dates.

The project was rolled out across their global offices for their 60,000 members "seamlessly" and meant that their examinations were not affected after the closure of exam centres across the world.

With results and exam resits being controlled through the IT system, CIPS were able to focus on areas of the organisation  maintaining consistently high levels of candidate experience during the pandemic.

The system automatically calculated and emailed exam results to all students, factoring in their historical performance at each exam level.

Exam resit vouchers were automatically sent to all students who failed based on the algorithm or had insufficient history to have their grade calculated. Unsuccessful students could book a resit online using a unique voucher code.
