With colleagues collaborating online, having tea breaks over Zoom and met up with what felt like the size of a football pitch in distance, 2020 has been a year like no other.
As a business with existing working infrastructure, we were able to adjust to remote working quickly and continue operating as normal in the remote working world.
We were delighted with the addition of several new clients and we added more professionals to our agile and dynamic team.
Thanks to our experience and knowledge within digital transformation, we were proud to support large organisations in their transitions to working from home.
Here are some of our highlights of 2020:
Launch of our eMark application
The beginning of the year saw the launch of our new generation online assessment software – eMark. The online exam marking software takes in in-depth experience to understand the complex processes involved in the smooth running of the complete examination life-cycle, from question writing and exam paper creation to the production of marking schemes and exam moderation and standardisation.
eMark – which automatically assigns papers to markers based on set criteria – was used by NEBOSH throughout 2020 to help them deliver a quality candidate experience and save on operational costs.
The first product in our eMarking range, eMark, is the first in a series of fully-customisable and easy to use tools.

AAT signs up
In February, we were delighted to sign a two-year contract with AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) to supply IT Development and Management services to develop their IT strategy and offer expert IT support.
During this year, we worked closely with the world’s leading professional body of accounting technicians to provide extensive IT and operations support. Our business analysts helped manage, change and plan for AAT’s future in line with their targets and business needs.
Our adaptive team also worked on developing their applications including Drupal, Dynamics, Angular and .NET, with our team of testers closely scrutinising their application development.

Covid-19: Remote working and supporting clients
Like almost every business, PSP-IT changed the way it operated during the coronavirus pandemic. As well as rolling out remote working across the business, we also supported one of the major Chartered Institutes in the country with their transition to remote working. Our approached allowed their 200 staff to work remotely through the crisis, operating as they would if they were in the office.
While tackling the new challenges of calculating predicted grades, CIPS set PSP the challenge of modifying systems to accommodate results management and the examination resit process. The cleverly adapted algorithm allowed predicted grades to flow through the system to the candidate’s online portal. Unsuccessful or ineligible students were automatically sent free resit vouchers for future exams.
“PSP delivered the solution within a very short time frame; within four weeks of our initial conversations. The experience for our global offices, study centres and students was seamless.”
Amandra Boustred, Group Professional Development Manager (CIPS)
